Game 7 - Homecoming

Lewis County's Homecoming game was last night against Marshall County. It is crazy to me how different Lewis County does their Homecoming festivities. The Homecoming queen and the court have been decided for several weeks. Each class has one representative and the seniors have a representative and the Homecoming Queen. The Homecoming queen picks not only her dress, but also picks out a dress for the attendants to wear. It really reminds me of a wedding, especially because the last two years the Homecoming Queen has worn a white dress. Also, the festivities take place before the game and the bands take the field during halftime.

Here is a picture of the 2009 Lewis County Homecoming Court:

I am VERY disappointed in myself. I actually missed getting a picture of the sign! I was trying to focus my camera to snap the shot and the boys ran through before I could get it. The sign was simple. It said "Homecoming" with a yellow crown. Here is the picture I was able to get :) :

The Panther's were able to pull out a win over Marshall County 28-18!!!! Our record to this point is 2-5.

I was able to get a picture of my hubby in action hanging out of the press box. Isn't he cute?!?

Next week is our bi-week, so there will not be a game update!

GO PANTHERS!

Panther Volleyball

I have been able to help with Lewis County volleyball this year. It has been really fun to be around the sport again, and I really enjoy the girls. We have only lost to two teams in our district, so it has been a pretty good season. Here are a few clippings from the local newspaper, the Lewis County Herald.

Game #6

Friday was the sixth game of the season against the Wayne County Wildcats in Waynesboro. We were hoping to end their undefeated season. The weather showed that we would be sitting the ENTIRE game in rain, but luckily it rained on the way to the game and on the way home, but didn't rain a drop while we sat in the bleachers.

For blogging tradition, here is the sign for the game. I have to say this was my personal favorite of the season:

The sign says, "Breaking News, Panthers on the Prowl! Alert!"

The field was VERY messy due to all the rain, so I had to take a picture of the "slop" the players were standing in on the sideline.

The game was tied 7-7 going into halftime. The Wildcats scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but missed the extra point leaving the score 13-7. During the fourth quarter, the Wildcats scored again making the score 19-7. We just could not work the ball down the field to score again, and the game ended with the score of 19-7.

Next week is Homecoming against Marshall County! Stay tuned!

Reid's Visit

Reid was able to come visit for a long weekend. We had a BLAST and really crammed a lot of fun into a short amount of time. I feel like I am still worn out, but we made lots of memories and had a great time.
Friday we visited Amber Falls Winery. Here are a couple pictures from the winery:

I have to say it was all very interesting. The time and patience to maintain a vineyard and winery amaze me.

Friday night we headed to the Panther football game in Centerville. Check out the blog entry below (Game #5) to get a quick re-cap of the game.
Saturday we rolled out of bed at 4:30am to leave the house at 5am to see the Tide play. The morning started out rainy, and we were not thrilled at the idea of sitting at a ballgame in a down pour, but the rain cleared and the sun came out! The Tide rolled all over UNT and the game was a lot of fun.

This is a picture of Denny Chimes on the Quad!

Me and Reid in front of the new addition to the stadium.
The band playing the "greatest fight song in the land"!
The players getting ready to run on the field! Our seats were pretty awesome! (Thanks to B's A-club tickets!) Roll Tide Roll! Here are two videos we shot during the game!

Sunday we were able to recover from our road trip to Tuscaloosa. We were also able to take the jet ski out between rain showers for about an hour.

I really enjoyed Reid coming to visit. I wish we would have done a better job in taking pictures! God truly blessed me with an amazing family, and I am very thankful for the close relationship I have with my "little" brother.
Love you Reid!

Game #5 - HELLO WIN COLUMN

I am disappointed that I am behind in updating on the football season, but things have been cRaZy lately! This game up date is not from last night, but the week before. We played the Hickman County Bulldogs at Centerville. This game was especially fun, because Reid was in town! Here is the sign for the game:

It says, "Black White Attack"

Reid must have been the Panther "good luck charm" because we were finally able to get the first win of the 2009 season. The final score was 27-8!
GO PANTHERS!!!!

After the game, Reid and I headed home to get ready for the Alabama vs UNT game in Tuscaloosa. We were being goofy (it was pretty late at night), so here is a picture of Reid in Barrett's football helmet!
