Promotional Codes Website!

For those of you who know where Barrett and I live in Tennessee, you understand the adjustment I have had to make when it comes to shopping! When I lived in Texas I was spoiled by having a great out door mall 3 minutes (5 minutes if you hit a red light) away. Any type of store you wanted to go to was at most 30 minutes from my house!

Now, in order to get to a "good" mall we have to travel 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours! Due to our location, Barrett and I are constantly shopping online. The thing I hated most about shopping online was feeling like I was throwing away money by paying shipping and handling. Last week I made an AWESOME discovery and I wanted to make sure I shared it on my blog! So, for those of you who are online shoppers, this post is for YOU!

My major discovery is a website where you can look up promotional codes to use for online shopping. It has promotional codes for thousands of stores! I questioned whether or not it would work but I have ordered items from two different stores and used two different promotional codes for each order...and it worked!!!! I was able to get free shipping with one order and 15% off with another order simply by entering in the promotional code from the website!

So now that you are all dying to know the website go here!

Check it out and let me know what you think! I hope it changes your online shopping experience! I know it did mine!

This Weekend and a New Recipe

We had a busy week and it is hard to believe the weekend is already coming to a close!

Barrett had a football scrimmage Friday night, so I traveled to Loretto to spend time with my in laws and niece. We went shopping and then ate at Demo's! It was yummy! Here is a picture of me and Miss Aubrey Grace!

Saturday we had a girls day of shopping! We went to Kirklands, Robbie's, and the mall in Florence. Saturday night we celebrated Barrett's dad's birthday with a wonderful dinner of: chicken and dumplins, fried okra, hominy, deviled eggs, grape pie, and chess squares! It was delicious!!!

Today we have picked up around and outside the house. Barrett mowed and I went for our weekly grocery run. Tonight we had dinner with one of Barrett's coaching buddies. It was excellent! We had pork tenderloin, baked potatoes, and corn. I made a salad and rolls.

This is the recipe for the Parmesan knots I made! They are really good and simple to make!

Here is what you will need:
  • 1 tube (12 oz) buttermilk biscuits
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 3 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley flakes
Roll each piece into a 3" rope, tie into knots and tuck ends under. Bake at 400 degrees for
8-10 minutes. In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients. Add the knots and gently toss.

Finally, the other exciting news is that our tomato/cucumber plant finally has baby cucumbers and tomatoes! I will have to keep you all up to date on the growth process, but here is what I found today!

Around Our Backyard

Here are just a few pictures from around our backyard:

Cute initial flag from Kirklands! :)

These are our cucumber plants! Not too much longer and we
should have a few baby cucumbers!

This is our tomato bucket! They are planted in the side of a bucket! Yum!

These are surprise lillies that have bloomed all around our house!

Summer Happenings

I have not blogged in FOREVER!!! This summer has been filled with friends, family and fun. I spent most of my summer having to adjust to Barrett's summer schedule. Trust me, it was not fun getting up to go to work while Barrett was still snoozing! Being a teacher definitely has its perks! For the most part, Barrett's summer is over. The Panthers started football two-a-days on Monday. Now Barrett leaves the house before I do and doesn't get home until 8:30 or 9:00pm. I am going to do my best to do a quick run through of events from May-July!

May -

  • We celebrated Aubrey Grace's 1st birthday! I love being an aunt!
  • I took a trip to Jackson to visit extended family and to celebrate my cousin Natalie's birthday. I really enjoyed getting to see everyone!
  • We celebrated Debra's retirement at a dinner put on by the high school.
  • My mom celebrated a birthday in May. Although I couldn't celebrate it with her in person, I celebrated in spirit!
  • Also in May, I started helping with the Lady Panther volleyball team. I am VERY excited to be involved at the high school and help with such a great sport!
  • We spent Memorial Day weekend with Barrett's friends and family having a cook out and the guys playing yard ball.
  • The last weekend in May Barrett and I traveled to Pensacola for Trisha and Billy's wedding. We had such a great time, and I was honored to be a bridesmaid for Trisha & Billy's special day!
  • Barrett's brother Rylie celebrated his 17th birthday! :)

June -

  • Barrett went to CoCoa Beach, FL with a group of his guy friends. Bindi and I stayed home and had girl time!
  • I had a training for work in Nashville the 9th-11th.
  • I helped with the annual golf tournament for work. I had a lot of fun being the "Cart Girl".
  • June 18-20 Barrett surprised me with a trip to Gatlinburg, TN. I had never been to the TN mountains and we had a GREAT time. He was so thoughtful to take me on a mini-vacation.
  • Barrett and his family went back to Gatlinburg during June for their family vacation. I wasn't able to go because of work :(.
  • At the end of June I got a hair-cut! I actually got it cut shorter than I ever have! I am really enjoying my new "style"!

Although we are still in July, here are a few highlights so far...

  • July 2-5th we took a trip to Hot Springs, AR! We met my family there and had a BLAST! It was so great to see them!
  • Volleyball for the high school has started up. I am helping with evening practice when my work schedule allows. I am really enjoying getting to know the girls and being around the sport again!
  • Barrett celebrated his 24th birthday! We went to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse and I pre-ordered NCAA 2010 for his PS3! I am such a good wife!!!!
  • I went "junk sale shopping" for the first time since I have lived in Hohenwald. I found a STEAL of a DEAL on an entertainment piece for our big TV. Barrett and I decided the piece of furniture would be an anniversary gift to each other!
  • July 19, 2009 we celebrated our 1 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!! I cannot believe it has already been one year since I married my best friend and love of my life! For our anniversary we ate at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Nashville! It was so yummy! To make our dinner even better, our dinner was "anonymously" paid for. ;) We know who paid for it and are so thankful for a great anniversary treat!
  • Barrett started back two-a-days on Monday (July 20) so we are gearing up for the 2009 Panther football season!

I will try to post pictures soon from our summer events!

April Snow Showers

O how I wish I was better at blogging! Things have been ever so busy for the Earnest household. It is so hard to believe we are in April, but it is even harder to believe that it was snowing when I was driving home from work today! I am ready for summer weather!!!

I will do my best to fill everyone in about the last couple of weeks:

Reid was able to come for a few days during his spring break and we had a BLAST. We didn't do anything terribly exciting, but we still had a great time. We went bowling one night and he was able to meet little Bindi Boo. She stole his heart right away! I will post a few pictures below from his visit!

School is keeping me busy. It has been especially hard for me to get back in the swing of things after spring break...some how I have managed. The next two weeks are full of the "big" assignments for the semester, so we will see how it goes. I am really dreading summer classes especially since Barrett will have the summer off. Working full time and going to school is VERY exhausting!

Barrett is still busy doing workouts for the football program and attending coaching clinics around Tennessee and Alabama. We go see his family about every other weekend. Our little niece Aubrey Grace is growing up so fast. It is hard to believe she will be 1 year old in a little over a month.

This past weekend was WONDERFUL! My amazing husband scheduled a surprise night in Nashville at a ritzy hotel downtown. We went to dinner at PF Changs on Friday night and Saturday went to a Nashville Predator hockey game. The game went into a shoot out, which made it even more exciting! I have such a wonderful thoughtful husband!

I am really looking forward to Easter weekend because Barrett and I are planning on driving to Texas for a quick trip. I can't wait to see the family, the grandparents, and let Elle Belle (my parent's Chihuahua) meet little Bindi Boo (our Chihuahua)!

That's all for now. I will try to be better about posting! Enjoy a few pictures from Reid's visit and our little weekend get-a-way! :)

Brother Visiting!

I am so very excited today because my brother, Reid, is coming to visit!!! He is staying with us through Tuesday because it is his spring break. I haven't seen him since Christmas, so I am very excited about it. We don't have anything special planned but I know it will be quality brother and sister time! I am sure we will talk about all our HILARIOUS childhood memories. I am so blessed to have a wonderful brother and a close relationship with him. It is hard to be so far away, but I am so glad we have been able to stay close. I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures to post after his visit!

Faith Fridays

I love listening to praise music at work. While listening this song came on and it is my all time favorite! Just think on the words...
In Christ Alone
by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

IN CHRIST ALONE my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! - who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied –
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
an ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!
