April Snow Showers

O how I wish I was better at blogging! Things have been ever so busy for the Earnest household. It is so hard to believe we are in April, but it is even harder to believe that it was snowing when I was driving home from work today! I am ready for summer weather!!!

I will do my best to fill everyone in about the last couple of weeks:

Reid was able to come for a few days during his spring break and we had a BLAST. We didn't do anything terribly exciting, but we still had a great time. We went bowling one night and he was able to meet little Bindi Boo. She stole his heart right away! I will post a few pictures below from his visit!

School is keeping me busy. It has been especially hard for me to get back in the swing of things after spring break...some how I have managed. The next two weeks are full of the "big" assignments for the semester, so we will see how it goes. I am really dreading summer classes especially since Barrett will have the summer off. Working full time and going to school is VERY exhausting!

Barrett is still busy doing workouts for the football program and attending coaching clinics around Tennessee and Alabama. We go see his family about every other weekend. Our little niece Aubrey Grace is growing up so fast. It is hard to believe she will be 1 year old in a little over a month.

This past weekend was WONDERFUL! My amazing husband scheduled a surprise night in Nashville at a ritzy hotel downtown. We went to dinner at PF Changs on Friday night and Saturday went to a Nashville Predator hockey game. The game went into a shoot out, which made it even more exciting! I have such a wonderful thoughtful husband!

I am really looking forward to Easter weekend because Barrett and I are planning on driving to Texas for a quick trip. I can't wait to see the family, the grandparents, and let Elle Belle (my parent's Chihuahua) meet little Bindi Boo (our Chihuahua)!

That's all for now. I will try to be better about posting! Enjoy a few pictures from Reid's visit and our little weekend get-a-way! :)

Brother Visiting!

I am so very excited today because my brother, Reid, is coming to visit!!! He is staying with us through Tuesday because it is his spring break. I haven't seen him since Christmas, so I am very excited about it. We don't have anything special planned but I know it will be quality brother and sister time! I am sure we will talk about all our HILARIOUS childhood memories. I am so blessed to have a wonderful brother and a close relationship with him. It is hard to be so far away, but I am so glad we have been able to stay close. I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures to post after his visit!

Faith Fridays

I love listening to praise music at work. While listening this song came on and it is my all time favorite! Just think on the words...
In Christ Alone
by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

IN CHRIST ALONE my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! - who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied –
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
an ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

New Addition

Time to update! I am disappointed at how I have been unable to keep up with posting. Hopefully I will be able to do better over the next couple weeks. The most exciting news has to do with the new addition to our family...our new Chihuahua puppy Bindi Lee. Bindi came to be a part of our family on January 16th! I love her! She continues to be stubborn about potty training (which can be expected), but she is doing great learning tricks! She has "sit", "lay down", and "shake" mastered if you have a treat! I had the itch for a puppy for a long time before Barrett finally agreed to let me get a dog. Having Bindi has definitely added a lot of responsibility to our lives, but she has been a lot of fun so far!

Work has been keeping us busy. Barrett has had a lot to do with spring football workouts. I am still traveling a lot with my job. Last Tuesday alone, I put 250 miles on the car! I have also started back with my Masters program in Gerontology. Most all my evenings are spent on the computer working on discussion and class work. At this point I should be finished with the program by May 2010. I cannot wait to be officially done with school...forever!

Check out a few pictures below!

Figures

Wouldn't you know as soon as I decide to join the blogging world we start having computer trouble! It will probably be a good while before I can post pictures to the blog, so I guess stories will have to do.

The holidays with family were wonderful. I know I needed the break from work, and it was great to spend 10 whole days with my family! My favorite gifts I received for Christmas were a camera from mom and dad and an iphone from Barrett. I must say the iphone is awesome. It would be even greater if the South Central Tennessee area had the 3G network, especially since I was spoiled with how fast the phone was in Texas. It amazes me what I now hold in the palm of my hand: a GPS, an IPOD, phone, camera, internet explorer, and other applications I can download and use. I am sure there are other things the iphone does that I don't even know about! What will they come up with next?

We are slowly getting back to our routines of waking up early and trying to get in bed early. I have NEVER been a morning person. Each morning, as the alarm goes off, I find myself asking, "How many days until Saturday???" FYI the answer is 2!!!! :)

Resolution

I was reading one of my friend's blogs yesterday and thought it was time for me to join the blogging world. As we begin 2009 I can't help but look back. So many things happened during 2008:

1. Barrett and I got hitched.

2. We moved to Tennessee.

3. We started new jobs.

4. Moved into a house.

5. Barrett and I welcomed our first neice

6. We became involved in a great church.

7. Barrett helped coached a great 11-1 football season.

I am sure there are many things I have left off the list. Keep checkin back with the blog for pictures and details about the holidays!
